Product Description
Organic Coco Coir Soil, coir pith (dust), is a natural, biodegradable by-product from the coconut fiber industry. It is the leftover fine coir particles after extraction of fiber from freshwater cured coconut husks. After extraction of fiber, coir pith is stored in open air for 2-3 years before using. Exposure to natural conditions, rain in particular, weathers coir dust and reduces its salinity and conductivity. Aged coir pith has properties suitable for promoting seed germination plant growth. A 50% increase in root growth has been observed in many plants when they are grown in coir dust mediums. A higher rose production can be achieved using coir dust. Organic Coco Coir Soil is available in 5:1 and 2:1 dry compaction units. Coir pith is also excellent reptile bedding, medium for worm cultures and also insulation medium for plant over wintering.
